Chilliwack – The Chilliwack Chiefs announce the signing of 2007-born forward Vladimir Laptev to the team’s 2025/26 roster.
Laptev joins the Chiefs after spending last season with Chaika Nizhny Novgorod (MHL), where he appeared in 48 games, recording 13 goals and 12 assists for 25 points.
“Vladimir is a highly driven young player. What stands out immediately is his explosive skating and his presence all over the ice,” said Chiefs Head Coach and General Manager Brian Maloney. “His recognition by NHL Central Scouting speaks to his potential, but what really impressed us is his willingness to compete and his ability to impact the game in multiple ways. We’re excited to welcome him to our group and help him take the next steps in his development.”
Laptev is eager to begin his North American career with Chilliwack.
“I am very happy to have the opportunity to play for the Chiefs,” said Laptev. “I want to join the team as soon as possible and work toward winning every game.”
