Abbotsford (Abbotsford Police Department) – Between Friday at 5:00 AM and Monday at 6:00 AM, AbbyPD frontline officers responded to 324 police files.
Friday Night
Calls for service remained relatively routine. Our Gang Crime Unit (GCU) conducted multiple licensed premises and curfew checks across the city. GCU officers also impounded a vehicle for excessive speed after a 21-year-old female driver was caught traveling at 133 km/h in a 50 km/h zone. In total, 18 locations were checked as part of Operation Community Shield throughout the night by our Patrol Team.
Saturday
During the day, officers responded to a targeted street-style robbery involving an individual known to police. Additionally, three missing persons were successfully located during the shift.
On Saturday evening, officers dealt with an intoxicated man armed with a knife. A less-lethal shotgun was deployed to safely arrest the 24-year-old suspect, who is also known to police. Charges approved include Assault, Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose, Mischief, Assault of a Police Officer, & Breach of Probation. The suspect remains in custody.
Sunday
Day-shift officers focused on proactive policing efforts. Highlights include:
• Arrest of three individuals on outstanding warrants
• Patrol Officers located and removed a daytime impaired driver
• Arrest of a known male who attempted to flee during a traffic stop; drugs and cash were seized, and the investigation is ongoing Overnight, officers continued their city-wide efforts under Operation Community Shield.

Proactive Traffic enforcement efforts led to: 6 impaired drivers being removed from the roads, and 11 violation tickets being issued. By the end of the weekend, 5 individuals were held in custody.
