Abbotsford (Abbotsford Police Department) – Between Friday at 5:00 AM and Monday at 6:00 AM, AbbyPD frontline officers responded to 273 police files, staying engaged throughout the weekend.
Friday Night
Officers handled several calls overnight, including a man acting erratically in the 2300 block of McCallum Road. He was punching car windows and shouting incoherently. Patrol officers determined he was in a drug-induced psychosis, requiring medical care and hospitalization.
Officers also attended several calls related to Intimate Partner Violence. In one case, a man with an active no-contact order from a previous incident was found hiding under a bed inside the residence when officers arrived. He was arrested again for breaching the order.
Saturday
Day shift was relatively routine with no major incidents reported. However, the Saturday night shift kept officers busy. They responded to a break-and-enter in progress at a local business in the 33700 block of South Fraser Way, where the suspect was located inside upon police arrival. The individual was arrested and held for court. Officers also assisted border patrol with a border runner in the area of McKenzie Road and Farmer Road.
Sunday
Sunday’s day shift was relatively uneventful. Our Traffic Enforcement Unit impounded two vehicles for excessive speeding. Additionally, one of our Patrol officers arrested an impaired driver along Clearbrook Road shortly after noon. Due to his repeat history of impaired driving, he now faces a court date.
Sunday evening was more active. Officers responded to a robbery at a local liquor store where the suspect threatened a staff member while stealing liquor. The suspect was located, arrested, and remains in custody pending a court appearance today.

Proactive Traffic enforcement efforts led to:
6 impaired drivers being removed from the roads, and 24 violation tickets being issued. By the end of the weekend, 7 individuals were held in custody
