Abbotsford (with files from CityNews1130) – Abbotsford Police are on scene following a shooting that occurred at 9:20AM Monday (October 27) morning in the 31300 block of Ridgeview Drive. One adult male was shot and killed. As a precaution, three nearby schools were briefly placed under a shelter-in-place protocol. No students were harmed or directly impacted.
The incident occurred on the street and remains an active investigation. Additional details will be shared as they become available. A significant police presence will remain in the area throughout the day supporting the ongoing investigation.
In an update just before noon, the AbbyPD confirmed the incident is being investigated as a homicide. Sgt. Paul Walker says first responders discovered the man suffering from gunshot wounds in a vehicle. Despite life-saving efforts, the 68-year-old man died from his injuries.
