Drowning on Vedder River Near Campground

Chilliwack (with files from Fraser Valley Buzz/Black Press) Emergency crews were on the Vedder River on Saturday (Ocotober 25) morning. There were reports that a person went into the river and this was a possible drowning.

RCMP confirm that a 41 year old Langley man died and family were being notified.

A high streamflow was issued on Friday October 24 and anglers have been warning fellow anglers on social media about the fast water.

Fraser Valley Buzz and other social media reports say this was near the Vedder Campground.
