Chasing Hope With BC Community Football Association – Hosting a Mental Health Awareness Event – April 5

Fraser Valley (BCCFA BC Community Football Association) – On April 5, Chasing Hope With BCCFA will be hosting a mental health awareness event.

From Organizer Chel Sanghera :

Chasing Hope is a Suicide Awareness Program that we have implemented in Grassroots Football. Across the province we have trained volunteers of BCCFA and volunteers of Football Associations that are non members of BCCFA.

This initiative was brought to us by the Claypool family who have experienced this within their own family. Grassroots football was there to support them through this tragedy and they will never forget the support of the football family during this time. Most importantly they believe in the need to have awareness that Youth do struggle. Life has it’s beautiful moments. It also has tough ones. Sometimes we have thoughts that are hard to navigate through.

Year 2025 – the world has changed. Often we do the comparisons. Growing up in the 70s and 80s, many think it was better then. Maybe. Maybe not. That time has passed. We are here now. We are more aware. We are more in tune with our children and we commit to raising them in a world that is forever changing and with all that is presented to them.

Born decades ago, or born in the 2000s….we all deal with uncomfortable moments. That’s what unites us.

Chasing Hope reminds us that we are all human going through life. It’s ok to not feel ok but it’s even better when you know there’s someone to reach out to.

The vision is to have a visible trained Ambassador in the organization who will be there to provide guidance to a resource who can help further.

Chasing Hope with BCCFA is available to all football platforms. Together we can share the love of the game and the love of these amazing youth athletes in their life journey.

Understanding not all athletes have access to higher level training, organizers are pleased to partner with Air Raid Academy and Showtime Digital for this one day event.
