Abbotsford – A patient friendly chair has arrived in the medical imaging department. The new state-of-the-art equipment provides radiology professionals a more efficient, innovative and child friendly way to safely position pediatric patients when they come in for their medical imaging visits.
Designed for optimal imaging the pedia-poser chair helps to place patients as close to the imaging detector as possible without any discomfort thereby minimizing retakes and reducing radiation exposure.
Carmen Koop—X-ray supervisor—medical imaging described how “the X-ray department at Abbotsford Regional Hospital sees many children everyday. It is
often a scary thing for a child to be in the hospital and to have an X-ray. With the addition of the Pedia Poser chair it allows us to immobilize medium size pediatric patients quickly and safely”.
Thanks to the generous support of Lorena Redekop and the late John Redekop for funding the chair. This improves the hospital experience for pediatric patients and helps enhance our capacity to provide excellence in health care for those residing in the Fraser Valley.
