Mission – On Wednesday morning (January 17, @ 10:45AM), CCTV footage captured an older white male use a pickup truck to ram through a garage door of a residence on Cottonwood Street in Mission. The man then entered the residence and stole numerous items, including two tool boxes and a Husky air compressor. The man drove away, then returned around 11:25 am, and stole a safe containing two firearms, jewelry and other family items.
Mission RCMP officers located the same male driving the truck on Lougheed Highway near Wren Street a short time later, and attempted to block it in, however the driver rammed his truck into one of the police cars and sped away. Fortunately, the officer was not injured.
Not only did this individual break into someone’s home and steal numerous belongings including firearms, but the fact that he was willing to ram his truck into a police car to get away highlights the risk he poses,
says Corporal Harrison Mohr with Mission RCMP. If you see this person, please call 911. We would like to return this family’s belongings, and ensure that the stolen firearms are not used in the commission of any other crimes.
The truck is an early 2000s grey Chevrolet Silverado 1500 extended cab, with a black headache rack on the back. The offender is a white male, 50s-60s, with grey hair. Anyone with more information is asked to call Mission RCMP at 604-826-7161.
