Abbotsford – (Correctional Service Canada) -On July 14, 2023, Douglas Gordon Martin, an inmate from Pacific Institution, died while in custody.
At the time of death, the inmate had been serving a sentence of 4 years, 2 months and 23 days for Dangerous Operation of Conveyance (x2), Operation While Prohibited (x2), and Flight from Peace Officer since October 23, 2020.
The inmate’s next of kin have been notified.
As in all cases involving the death of an inmate, the Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) will review the circumstances. CSC policy requires that the police and the coroner be notified.
