Fraser Valley (FVRD) – The FVRD Fraser Valley Regional District released their Regional Growth Strategy.
A website that looks into the future. What are the challenges and resources and what is needed.
Currently the Fraser Valley population is approximately 340,700 (2021 numbers). By 2050, at least 500,000.
The Regional Growth Strategy (RGS) is a long-range regional planning document, developed and monitored by regional districts and enabled by the Local Government Act of B.C.
This year, the FVRD expects to adopt the updated RGS, called Fraser Valley Future 2050. The updated document better reflects the challenges facing the region, growing relationships with Indigenous communities, and updates to provincial legislation.
The FVRD uses monitoring indicators to report on long-term trends and progress related to the RGS goals and policies.
