Provincial Funding to Support the Arts in Abbotsford

Abbotsford – Abbotsford-Mission MLA Pam Alexis said in a media release that provincial funding for arts organizations and people working in the arts will help the local sector continue to recover from the economic impacts of the pandemic.

“The importance of the arts in our communities cannot be overstated. These organizations receiving funding are so important for the people in Abbotsford, like the REACH Art Gallery, and I’m grateful we can give them a boost,” said Alexis.

In Abbotsford, the following projects are receiving funding, for a total of $458,748:

  • Abbotsford Arts Council – $21,709
  • The Reach Gallery Museum – $119,351
  • Abbotsford Arts Council – $5,000
  • Heritage Abbotsford Society – $250,000
  • The Reach Gallery Museum – $40,000
  • Valley Echoes Chorus Society – $22,688

The funding is distributed through the BC Arts Council and will provide a total of $34.5 million to arts and culture organizations throughout B.C. Grants will help support infrastructure projects and address rising costs for organizations who have been impacted by a loss of audiences, reduced profits, and increased expenses since the pandemic.
