Chilliwack – Chilliwack’s Unity Christian went for the BC High School 1A Boys Basketball title Saturday Night (March 11) at the LEC.
Almost but not quite for the boys as they lost 72-68 to the King David Lions from Vancouver.
Momma Krista Vee tried not to shed a few tears when she spoke with FVN, but she and the other parents were very proud of the team.
Heartbreaking loss and not the finish they were hoping for but I couldn’t be more proud of this team! To show such grace and humility through such an agonizing defeat is true character. They battled hard but got outplayed. Super proud Mama moment when Ethan said “I couldn’t have done this without you. Thanks for being the best parents ever and for all the sacrifices you made for my basketball. All the time, the money, the driving and the grey hairs. I appreciate it all.” That right there was more meaningful than another Provincial Championship.
