Cultus Sailing and Paddling Clubs 2023 Sail Past New Year’s Day

Cultus Lake – The New Year’s Day tradition continued. Tom Moul with the Cultus Sailing Club along with Jono Willcocks of the Dragon Boat Club posted pictures to social media.

Willcocks told FVN: We had more than 50 people show for it on this glorious day, Happy New Year!

From Christine Masson, Cultus Lake Sailing Club: With Mark Isaak we organized the Sail Past / Parade New Year’s Day, with great parental and member support. The sailboats are called optimists, which are youth sailboats. They are 7 ft 9 inches long and 3 ft 6 inches wide. They are also the largest sailboat fleet that is raced in the world. There were 8 kids participating and they are all part of our youth program. They sail most of the year and several of them attended regatta competitions last year.

Kathie Vander Helm is the phenomenal photographer here.
