Chilliwack – The Sardis Secondary Award winning Drumline has had a great year.
Last August, they were part of the post Olympic celebration at Exhibition Park where the city honoured local soccer hero Jordyn Huitema for her gold winning performance with the Canadian Women’;s Gold Medal Soccer team in Tokyo.
Then the Vancouver Canucks asked the drumline to be part of the regular entertainment as the house drumline.
Now, they host the Canadian Drumline Association’s B.C. Championships on Friday May 6.
This will be big and LOUD – 13 drumlines from 11 different schools.
This will be the fifth trip to the finals for Sardis.
The Championships are around the lunchtime – Friday, May 6 at Sardis Secondary School (45460 Stevenson Rd.).
From just before Noon to 3PM, the neighbours won’t be able to take a nap.
Admission is by donation and helps pay the bills for the drumline program.
