Fraser Health Statement re: Issued a Closure Order to Rolly’s Restaurant in Hope

Hope (With files from Fraser Health, CityNews Vancouver and CTV) – On Thursday, October 7th, Fraser Health issued a closure order to Rolly’s Restaurant in Hope for failing to comply with the Provincial Health Officer’s Food and Liquor Serving Premises Order, which was put into effect on September 10, 2021 and applied September 13, 2021.

In the ensuing weeks, Fraser Health made repeated attempts to engage with the business operator to provide education about the Provincial Health Officer’s order and ultimately issued numerous violation tickets as a result of the operator’s non-compliance with the Provincial Health Officer’s order and Fraser Health’s closure order.

On Thursday, October 21st, the BC Supreme Court granted Fraser Health’s application for an injunction against Rolly’s Restaurant in response to the operator’s continued non-compliance with the closure order. As the details of this court decision are still being reviewed, we will provide more information when it becomes available.

We are pleased that our application was granted to ensure we are able to protect the health and wellness of people in our communities.
