Abbotsford – Bush League with Beast and the Bear and CIVL Radio 101.7 have announced a broadcast partnership that will bring the new Podcast to Abbotsford and the Fraser Valley.
Known as Bush League for short, the program will be a spoken word call in radio show hosted by Justin Orlewicz (Beast) and Karl Lundgren (The Bear). The primary focus of the show is the Abbotsford Canucks, but the program will also cover other sports related topics.
“CIVL is glad to host new content that reflects the important community engagement of the excitement brought by Abbotsford’s new AHL franchise and the Bear and the Beast are about as excited as anyone in town!”, says Aaron Levy, Station Manager at CIVL Radio.
The first official broadcast will air on CIVL Radio 101.7 in Abbotsford serving the Fraser Valley on Friday, October 22 from 5 to 6pm; This broadcast will be pre-recorded, but listeners will have the opportunity to call in to the show during live broadcasts starting with episode 2 on October 29. There will be weekly broadcasts every Friday from 5 to 6pm through the end of November with more broadcast dates still to be announced through the end of the season.
The timing couldn’t be better as the inaugural Bush League broadcast corresponds to the Abbotsford Canucks home opener later that same evening.
This will be the first comprehensive coverage of the freshly assembled Canucks AHL roster and is sure to stoke an already fired up community.
All indicators suggest that it will be a sell-out crowd for the home opener and is sure to be an electrifying atmosphere.
The hosts, Beast and the Bear, will be in attendance at Abbotsford Canucks games as ambassadors of the program and are sure to make their presence known through tailgating activities and being in the stands during games.
