Coquihalla/Okanagan Connector – Just in time for Thanksgiving– Snowfall warning for the Coquihalla and the Okanagan Connector.

Snowfall warning in effect for:

  • Coquihalla Highway – Hope to Merritt and Merritt to Kamloops
  • Coquihalla Highway – Merritt to Kamloops

Heavy snowfall through Sunday evening.

Additional snowfall: 5 to 10 cm.

Location: Coquihalla Highway – Merritt to Kamloops above the elevation of 900 metres.

Timespan: Now through this evening.

Remarks: An unstable airmass over the Coquihalla Highway from Merritt to Kamloops will continue to give snow heavy at times and reduced visibilities to elevations near and above 900 metres. The heavy snow is forecast to taper off late this evening.

Prepare for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions. Rapidly accumulating snow will make travel difficult. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow.

Weather in the mountains can change suddenly resulting in hazardous driving conditions.
