Recently, the Fraser Valley Regional District (FVRD) has been receiving proposals with significant (re)development plans for the neighbourhood that would require amendments to the OCP and Electoral Area C. These conditions require a comprehensive understanding of community needs to guide future plans for the neighbourhood.
In response, the FVRD has launched the Harrison Mills Neighbourhood Plan project. Through this process, aclear vision and supporting policies to guide the future growth and development of the neighbourhood will be prepared. The Neighbourhood Plan will be supported by a Local Servicing Plan that will ensure all infrastructure can accommodate land use direction as outlined in the Neighbourhood Plan. Together, the plans will:
- Provide for efficient, sustainable development that protects the environment and human health
- Provide for the needs of rural residents
- Make efficient use of land and identify servicing needs, capacity and options to provide efficient community water and community sewer services to the plan area
