RCMP Seized Drugs and a Firearm – Search Warrants Led Investigation Chilliwack to Kamloops

Chilliwack/Kamloops – RCMP seized drugs and a firearm during the execution of search warrants as a RCMP investigation led police from Chilliwack to Kamloops.

In May 2021, the Chilliwack RCMP targeted an individual suspected of supplying bulk quantities of illegal drugs to drug traffickers operating in Chilliwack and other parts of BC. The Chilliwack Crime Reduction Unit (CRU) executed a Controlled Drug and Substance Act (CDSA) search warrant at an address in Chilliwack in May 2021, and identified additional drug suppliers and members of the drug trafficking organization.

On September 22, 2021, the Kamloops RCMP arrested a male in possession of suspected fentanyl, cocaine and methamphetamine. Investigators believe these drugs originated from the drug trafficking organization in Chilliwack.

On September 27, 2021, the Chilliwack CRU supported by the Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit (CFSEU) executed CDSA search warrants at seven addresses and two storage lockers in Chilliwack.

Police seized drugs believed to be fentanyl, methamphetamine, and paraphernalia consistent with the trafficking of drugs and a firearm during the execution of the search warrants. Officers also seized offence related property including numerous vehicles.

Police arrested four people during the searches were later released pending further investigation.

Following a thorough review of evidence gathered, all circumstances of the investigation will be forwarded in a report by the RCMP to the Public Prosecution Service of Canada (PPSC) for their assessment of CDSA charges.

This multi-jurisdictional investigation led to the disruption of the flow of a significant quantity of illicit drugs between our communities, says Corporal Mike Rail spokesperson for the UFVRD.

RCMP remind everyone who witnesses anything they believe to be suspicious in nature to contact their local police agency or, should you wish to remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
