UPDATE (PICTURES) – Truth and Reconciliation Day in Harrison, September 30 – Plaza Lit in Orange, Sts’ailes Walk

Harrison – September 30, the Truth and Reconciliation Day was honoured in Harrison and Sts’ailes.

From Michie Vidal, Harrison Hot Springs Councillor:

National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. Our community is fortunate and thankful for the continuing collective relationships with Sts’ailes and members of our Lets’emot Community to Community Forum. I hope you will take some time tomorrow to pause and reflect on the history, harm and legacy of residential schools and honour all Indigenous communities. Thursday, lights on our plaza will glow orange in memory and support for our Indigenous neighbors.Lets paddle together.

There is also a walk by Sts’ailes Nation. After consultation and at the request of the Sts’ailes Council, flags in the village will be raised to full mast.
