Chilliwack – Current sitting MP and Federal Conservative Candidate Mark Strahl recently presided over the closure of one piece of Chilliwack Legion history and the future of a new legion Branch. Shrinking membership and two years of the financial COVID impact, plus basics like rent, simply forced the change.
But when one door closes ……………….
From Stahl’s tribute post to Instagram:
After 95 years, the Chilliwack Branch 4 Legion is closing its doors. Friday at the closing ceremony, members lowered their Canadian flag and shared their heartfelt memories. Thanks to Chilliwack Branch 4 Legion for improving the lives of veterans, their families, and our community for almost a century. Chilliwack Branch 4 will amalgamate with the Vedder Golden Branch 280 and will be known as Chilliwack-Vedder Branch 295.
