Fraser Valley – FVN Fraser Valley News , News Director Don Lehn in Conversation with Federal Green Party Candidate Nicole Bellay for Mission Matsqui-Fraser Canyon. Topics Include Housing, Opioid Crisis, Transportation.

Advance polls are September 10 to 13. Election Day is September 20.

From Ms. Bellay’s Website:

My name is Nicole Bellay. I am a community leader who is an advocate, a teacher, a restorative justice practitioner and the leader of the Green Party of Canada in the riding of Mission-Matsqui-Fraser Canyon (MMFC). My husband, Paul and I lived in northern India for a year where our twins were born. Since then I have lived in Mission with my family for 25 years and my children have grown into their own independent lives. Paul and I and I run a small farm in Mission.

I am passionate about striving to build a liveable world for all. The inclusion and acceptance of diversity alluded to in this statement is central for me. All peoples, all living things! I have taught university level outdoor leadership and love to spend time hiking, climbing and ski-touring.

A climate emergency is here. We must accept that. We must accept our responsibility as a country that profited from burning a lot of fossil fuels. We must work toward a swift, fair, people-first strategy and implement this plan immediately. This will only happen successfully if all peoples collaborate and political parties agree to work together. I am excited and honored to work hard for this on your behalf and with you!
