Wilma’s Transition Society Opening Outreach and Counseling Office Wednesday September 1

Chilliwack – Wilma’s Transition Society is a non profit located in Chilliwack, BC offering safe housing and support services for women and children who are victims of violence.

Wilma’s Transition House, formerly known as Xolhemet Society was created in 1988 as a Non-profit Incorporated Society, dedicated solely to providing services to victims of family violence through support, advocacy and education.

In 1991, Wilma’s Transition House opened an 18-bed Transition House for women and children affected by family violence. The Transition House is operated as a free, safe and temporary shelter.

In 1996, Wilma’s Transition House opened a 5 unit Second Stage Housing Program for women and children, who are in the process of creating a safe and healthy environment for themselves. Which can require a longer term stay than a Transition House can provide.

In 2021, Wilma’s Transition Society will open their Outreach Support and Counseling Office September 1 at 101-7075 Vedder Road.
