UPDATE – Speed a Factor in Accident – One of the Three Surrey Teens Killed in Accident was Member of the Langley Rivermen

Surrey – UPDATE AUGUST 27 – Surrey RCMP is releasing the initial findings into the cause of a fatal collision that occurred on August 21, 2021, in Fraser Heights.

This investigation is still ongoing however, it has been determined that high speed was a factor in the early morning collision that claimed the lives of three teens. Investigators have determined that the vehicle was travelling at a speed significantly greater than the posted speed limit at the time of the collision.

The Integrated Collison Analysis and Reconstructive Service (ICARS) and the Surrey RCMP Criminal Collison Investigation Team (CCIT) are continuing to investigate, working cooperatively with the BC Coroner’s Service. Further information is not expected to be released by Surrey RCMP.

The entire community has been greatly impacted by the loss of these three young men, says Sergeant Elenore Sturko. Our thoughts remain with their friends and family during this difficult time.

ORIGINAL STORY AUGUST 21 – Early Saturday morning ( August 21, 2021, @2:40AM), Surrey RCMP along with Emergency Health Services and Surrey Fire Service responded to the report of a single vehicle collision into a tree in the 16000-block of 104th Avenue. Upon attendance it was determined that all three occupants were deceased. 

The investigation is still in its early stages . Black Press confirmed that all three Surrey teens were from the Delta Hockey Academy. They were Caleb Reimer, Ronin Sharma and Parker Magnuson,

Ronin Sharma was with the Langley Rivermen BCHL club.

The Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstructive Service (ICARS) and the Surrey RCMP Criminal Collision Investigation Team (CCIT) are currently on scene working to determine the cause of the collision.

“Tragedies like this one deeply impact everyone involved,” says Surrey RCMP Media Relations Officer Cpl. Vanessa Munn. “Our sincerest condolences go out to the families of the three individuals who lost their lives this morning.”
