30 Chilliwack Firefighters Worked Amadis Crescent Garage Fire

Chilliwack- On Thursday night (August 26, 2021 @ 10:30PM) the Chilliwack Fire Department was dispatched to a reported structure fire in 45000 block of Amadis Crescent.

30 firefighters responded from fire halls 1, 2,4 and 6 and on arrival, reported heavy grey smoke showing from the main floor garage door of a single-family residential structure.

Everyone had evacuated the home. Crews then set up a quick exterior attack on the fire to bring it under control while securing a water supply. Once the fire was under control crews entered the structure to extinguish the fire. There was extensive fire damage to the garage, and light smoke damage to the rest of the home.

Occupants were at home and asleep when the fire started, waking up to the smell of smoke, all occupants were able to evacuate the structure

No one was hurt.

The cause of the fire appears to be accidental and is under investigation by Chilliwack Fire Department.
