Highlights from Bridal Veil Mountain Resort Proposal – On Line Presentation

Bridal Falls (Josh Olund BCIT Radio A&E) – On Thursday, the project team behind the Bridal Veil Mountain Resort held a virtual information session so the public can learn more about the new tourism attraction proposed for Chilliwack and the Fraser Valley.

It is not without instant controversy as Cheam First Nation, who is partnering with another proposal, claimed they new nothing about this idea.

From the on line forum, the basics were put forth although most of the bullet points have already been released.

Bridal Veil Mountain Resort (Name)

●It will be located by Bridal Falls

●Phase 1 could be completed in 5~ years, but no certain timeline

●Major economic and tourism driver for region and Province

●Will include two sightseeing gondolas, a mountain village, year-round activities

●One million visitors per year

●BVMR is financially capable to begin the development

●Will cover approximately 11,500 acres (4,700 ha)

●Within 1.5 hours drive of the entire Lower Mainland,and 2 International Airports

●Within 3 hours drive for 7.3 million people (CAN &USA)

●It will be designed for both winter and summer activities

●In terms of hectares/land, this would have the third-highest,behind Whistler/Blackcomb and Sasquatch

●No current timeline on when this will be completed,still in the initial stages

Cheam FN along with Jayson Faulkner, who is behind a gondola project first proposed in 2019, has yet to respond to FVN on this presentation.
