Mission’s 7th Avenue Greenway Project In Design Phase

Mission – MAY 3 UPDATE – The City of Mission updated the 7th Avenue Greenway: the project team has completed the design, the project has received a generous British Columbia Active Transportation Infrastructure grant, and construction is anticipated to commence in 2022.

Over two rounds of engagement in the spring and summer of 2021, the City heard from hundreds of community members and stakeholders on their aspirations, concerns, and preferences on three different design concepts for the future greenway.

Based on feedback and technical analysis, the project team has completed the design for the 7th Avenue Greenway, and the finishing design details are now being finalized for tender and construction. The design has a significant focus on safety, traffic flow, and the project team has worked to understand and minimize impacts to parking and loading.
