Chiefs Shut Out PG , Now Off Until Saturday

Chilliwack (Josh Olund BCIT Radio A&E) – Heading into Monday’s match in Chilliwack against the Prince George Spruce Kings, the Chilliwack Chiefs were just one point behind the Kings for first place in the Chilliwack Pod.

So with all the implications involved with this game, the Chiefs were the ones who came out on top, posting a 3-0 win over the Kings to take the top spot in their division. So knowing what was on the line, this game had tight-checking all over it. Neither team was going to budge and in the opening frame, neither team was able to get the first goal of the game. Luckily for the Chiefs though, they were able to outshoot the Kings 10-9 and it was only time until one of these two teams would score.

However, in the second period, the Chiefs would break the tie from a goal from Connor Milburn’s first goal of the season at 10:20 to make it 1-0 Chiefs and it would stay that way throughout the rest of the second period.

In the third period, the Chiefs would pull away with the game as the Chiefs would score once again, this time on the powerplay from Ethan Bowen at 15:57. But Bowen wasn’t done there, as he would add his second goal of the game and his 10thgoal of the season with just two seconds left in the game to give the Chiefs a 3-0 win.

With the victory, the Chiefs are now 12-6-0 and are now atop the Chilliwack Pod Division. And with only two more games left in the season, every game is extremely important from here on out. The next Chiefs game is on Saturday, May 8, at 5:00 PM in Chilliwack.
