Chilliwack – Chilliwack FC will be holding a Special General Meeting on June 8th, 2021 at 6:30 PM via Zoom.This meeting is for amending Bylaw 4e to reflect a change in their fiscal year-end from December31 to June 30, effective for the six-month period ending June 30, 2021.
The change in fiscal year-end will better align revenues and expenses to match with program scheduling.
The current year-end of December 31 falls in the middle of their biggest programs (Fall/Winter Development and Fall/Winter Recreational) so revenues are recorded in one year and half the expenses are recorded in the subsequent year.
The change to a June 30th year-end will allow revenues and expenses to be properly matched for financial planning.Per Bylaw 4h, “Constitutional or bylaw amendments shall be adopted only if approved by Special Resolution,” and per Bylaw 4i, “A Special General Meeting of the Association may be called by the Secretary on the instructions of the Chairperson,” and “shall be convened within forty-five days of that request.”
Pre-registration for the Special General Meeting is required prior to June 1, 2021. All those who register and are eligible to attend will be contacted by June 1 with further instructions for joining the Zoom meeting.
