School News – Chilliwack Looks At Cameras, Abby Labour Peace

Abbotsford/Chilliwack – The Abbotsford School District have come to a deal with Teamsters support staff. They have agreed to contracts within negotiating mandate. The threat of classes missed and schools closed has lifted. Kayla Stuckart, the Communications manager for the district said Teamsters Local 31 union had voted November 25 to accept the district’s final offer for a new collective agreement. This effected 800 support staff.

Meanwhile in Chilliwack – that District is looking at nailing red light runners who pass school buses and put kids at risk. A small amount of the bus fleet have some type of camera system but not front and back. Runming the school bus lights and sign is a $368 fine.
