Chilliwack Coliseum Welcomes Back Indoor Walking

Chilliwack – Get out and stretch your legs! The Chilliwack Coliseum, in partnership with the City of Chilliwack, is excited to announce the return of indoor walking on the concourse at the arena. It’s free and a great way to stay in shape!

The Coliseum, formerly known as Prospera Centre, will make the 0.25km loop around the main rink available to the public during business hours, excluding special event bookings and Chilliwack Chiefs games.

“We’re pleased to be able to open our building for members of our community, especially seniors and families, to enjoy walking indoors,” says Barry Douglas, Vice-President of Business Operations for the Coliseum. “The concourse provides a bright, warm, and safe walking track free of charge to the public.”

Walkers will be required to sign-in at the Chilliwack Chiefs / Chilliwack Coliseum administration office, located at ground-level on the north side of the building, and will be able to access the concourse via an elevator. There, washrooms, water fountains, and vending machines are available.

“Bringing indoor walking back to the Coliseum offers a great benefit to our community,” says Mayor Ken Popove. “Thank you to the team at the Chilliwack Coliseum for their willingness to reintroduce this active living programming through our new building partnership.”

Indoor walking on the concourse at the Chilliwack Coliseum will begin Tuesday, October 15. For more information, call (604) 702-0062.
