Chilliwack – Two debates down , another two this week. Chilliwack Federal Election candidates will have a closed debate with Chilliwack Fraser Rotary on Wednesday at the Sure Stay Best Western. The Noon time debate is technically a closed session for members only.
On Thursday, young voters and those not old enough to vote will pay attention. From 1-3 PM at the CCS Learning Centre, Candidates will be asked locally developed questions that will form the discussion on issues and service gaps effecting Chilliwack children and youth.
Local stats that will come up:
•4,710(20%) local children living in poverty
•47% of rental households spend more than 30 % of income on shelter
•only enough licenced Child Care for 19% of children in Chilliwack under the age of 9 years
