Abbotsford School District Hosts 2019 Canadian Student Leadership Conference

Abbotsford – The 2019 Canadian Student Leadership Conference (CSLC) kicks off this week in Abbotsford. Over 1,000 student leaders from across Canada will be at Yale Secondary School to hear from keynote speakers, make new connections and bring back positive change to their schools and communities.

The CSLC is Canada’s longest-running national conference for secondary school students across Canada. This year’s event will mark the 35th conference for secondary student leaders, centred around the theme “Empowering Inner Resources”. British Columbia last hosted this conference in 2014.

Conference Keynote Speakers include:

– Roméo Dallaire, founder of the Romeo Dallaire Child Soldiers Initiative

– Angus Reid, a former offensive lineman from the Canadian Football League

– Fred Fox, the Terry Fox Foundation

– Heather Moyse, Canadian athlete and two-time Olympic gold medalist
