Chilliwack – The 2019 list of inductees into the (CSHOF) Chilliwack Sports Hall of Fame is, as always, impressive.
In the builder category, this guy should have been in years ago. Bruce Renwick’s name as been associated with Chilliwack Curling for years. Currently the Manager of the old and new Chilliwack Curling Club. He got the job in 1997 and never looked back. With his guidance, the CCC has hosted the ’06 Continental Cup, ’16 Canadian Police Championships and this year’s National Senior’s Championship.
Renwick told FVN earlier this year that his group have eyes on bigger prizes, but wouldn’t commit (without a raised eyebrow) to chasing the Scotties Tournament of Hearts, Canada’s national women’s curling championship or even the Tim Hortons Brier, the Canadian men’s curling championship.

The 1999 Chilliwack Boys United Soccer Squad goes in under the team category. They were the first Chilliwack team to win a provincial championship.
Competing in the Olympics is not small feat. Chilliwack Spartans and Stingray star, Jenn Heagy started in competitive swimming in 1985. In 1992 she was on the National Swim Team and bound for the Barcelona Olympics. But she didn’t qualify…over just 1/100th of a second shy.
CSHOF’s Barry Douglas called that the epitome of heartbreak and triumph.
Heagy will be inducted in the athlete category.
