Fort Langley/Mission – MCC is honoring National Indigenous History Month by co-hosting the annual Walk in the Spirit of Reconciliation event. Join in this annual walk from Fort Langley to the site of the former St. Mary’s Residential School in Mission.
The MCC are walking in response to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) and its Calls to Action. The TRC listened to residential school survivors from across Canada and, based on this listening, wrote up 94 Calls to Action (June 2, 2015) which are intended to redress the legacy or residential schools and to advance the process of Canadian reconciliation.
This walk is in partnership with, Mennonite Central Committee BC, Mennonite Church Canada, Diocese of New Westminster, United Churches of Langley, the Christian Reformed Church and Willoughby Christian Reformed Church.
