Mission RCMP Nail Almost 30 Drunk/Impaired/Distracted Drivers In Week Long Blitz

Mission – Mission RCMP were out in full force during the week of March 17th to 23rd as it was National Impaired Driving Prevention Week.  The focus of enforcement was impaired driving but many other infractions were dealt with as well.

“We’ve been really focussing on these types of traffic enforcement initiatives based on feedback from the community,” Says Corporal Nathan Berze from the Mission RCMP.  “We do hear the concerns of community members and are more than happy to put the extra resources and focus toward road safety.”

Corporal Berze said extra resources were put on the road during that period and almost 30 drivers were faced with charges of impaired driving, speeding and offences under the Cannabis Act among others.  These charges were above and beyond the normal enforcement activities that happen on a given weekend.
