Fraser Valley – Early Friday morning, another round of snow dust gently fell on the Valley. That will be followed by strong winds pushed by the continued Arctic Outflow warning.
Extremely strong outflow winds will develop over the north coast and will spread south towards Howe Sound and the Fraser Valley Friday afternoon as cold Arctic air surges through the mainland inlets and valleys.
Strong outflow winds gusting to 90 km/h will develop this evening over the Fraser Valley, southeastern Metro Vancouver, Greater Victoria and the Southern Gulf Islands. Any falling snow during the period of strong winds may result in reduced visibilities in blowing snow.
Wind chill values near minus 20 are expected tonight and will persist through Saturday morning.
Any outdoor activity exposes you to an increased risk of frostbite. Be prepared for unusually cold temperatures and strong winds. Drive with care, especially along coastal routes exposed to outflow winds.
Dear Vancouver,

We’re hearing it may snow a little bit today. If it does, rest assured our airport team is ready to handle the weather and get you on your way. If it doesn’t, please still be safe — it’s kind of cold and icy. Maybe get a hot chocolate. Or a nice tea.
Love,
YVR
