Chilliwack – Two industrial fires on Monday, one in the afternoon on Industrial Way at the Arrow Transport Shop led to nearby evacuations of other businesses. the shop is not far from the Best Western Hotel.
The blaze started around 3PM and was under control within the hour.
The cause of the fire appears to be accidental and is under investigation by Chilliwack Fire Department.

Mike Veigh works at a nearby paint shop and his crew were told to evacuate and go home as a precaution. Veigh sent this video to FVN.
The second fire flared up around 8PM at a warehouse off Aitken Road.
When crews arrived they found a single story industrial building fully charged with heavy black smoke and fire at the rear and into the roof system of the building.
Crews went into a defensive mode to fight the fire. BC Hydro and Fortis were called into disconnect hydro and gas so an excavator could safely bring the building down. The building was completely destroyed.
