GoFundMe Account Set Up For 12 Year Old Sardis Girl With Cerebral Palsy- Needs Wheelchair Accessible Ramp

Sardis/Chilliwack – As we head into the new year, You have been asked to help out a young 12 year old girl from Sardis. Jenna Marte has Spastic Quadriplegic Cerebral Palsy. She has a twin sister who has severe to profound Bilateral Hearing Loss, and a new baby brother who is 1 and a half years old.

Her father, Eddie Shambles contacted FVN through his mom Laurel and asked for a little help in getting the word out on their needs.

A Wheelchair accessible ramp. A GoFundMe page has been set up with a target of $5000. That page can be found at this link.

As Eddie put it: As it is right now I have to carry Jenna upstairs to be in our home. She has a power wheelchair that she uses for school and outings and a manual chair that we keep upstairs for her to be pushed around in. Her manual chair is quite uncomfortable for her and she can’t spend alot of time in it, however her power chair has molded custom seating that is comfortable for her to spend most of the day in. Jenna is a growing girl that weighs about 95 pounds and is getting bigger all the time. Our hope is to raise enough money to build a ramp up to the patio doors at the back of the house so she can bring her power chair up into our home and have a bit more independence around the house. I struggle most days carrying her upstairs as she is quite heavy, and my girlfriend struggles even more when I’m not home. We manage ok but to be able to have her bring herself upstairs would make our life so much easier and would make Jenna so happy. Thank you for taking the time to read our story and helping us reach our goal. We have priced out materials and have an estimate of $5000 without labour costs.
