Fraser Valley – The City of Chilliwack and BC Transit are making it easier for voters to get to the polls on municipal election day by offering free service on Saturday, October 20.
The free fare will be valid on all local Chilliwack routes and handyDART.
Regular fares will apply on routes 11 Agassiz-Harrison, 22 Hope and 66 Fraser Valley Express.
Regular fares will also apply in Abbotsford and Mission.
BC Transit Communications Manager Jonathon Dyck told FVN that as always, it is a local municipal decision whether or not transit will be free for any day/event.
” Local governments, in partnership with BC Transit, make decisions on which promotions they wish to run each year as they retain all fare collected. “
