Fraser Valley – FVN Fraser Valley News is a staunch supporter of all things UFV University of the Fraser Valley.
In particular, student journalism, with 101.7 CIVL Radio and The Cascade newspaper.
(NOTE: CIVL has applied to the CRTC for a Chilliwack repeater to their Abbotsford radio station, to better cover the Fraser Valley).
This past week, The Cascade published a profile of most of the candidates running for Mayor in both Abbotsford and Chilliwack (where the two main UFV campuses reside).
While there is great talk of getting people to vote (as turnout at municipal elections is traditionally low) and that youth vote matters, it is interesting to note that three candidates refused the UFV Cascade offer for an interview to be published in their election preview.
