Vancouver/Fraser Valley – Again, no surprise and again, another month to month increase with illicit overdose deaths in BC and in particular, Vancouver, the Lower Mainland and the Fraser Valley.
134 suspected drug overdose deaths in July 2018, up 12% from July 2017 and up 25 % from June 2017.
The average for our area is 4.3 deaths PER DAY for the month for July.
In 2018, 72% of the deaths were adults 30-59. That number is 90% for the demographic of 19-59.
Fraser Health and Vancouver Coastal Health make up 61% of all Provincial illicit OD’s. (283 and 256 respectively).
So far in 2018 Abbotsford had 18 deaths, Chilliwack with 16.
Once again, NO DEATHS at supervised consumption or drug overdose prevention sites.
