FVRD Rescinds Evacuation Orders For Two Electoral Areas, Island 22, Dewdney Park Remains Closed

Fraser Valley – With the Mission Gauge below 5.4m and the 10-day forecast showing continued favourable conditions, the two Evacuation Orders in effect for Harrison Bay [PDF – 448 KB] in Electoral Area C, and the undiked areas of Nicomen Island [PDF – 710 KB] in Electoral Area G have been rescinded. An Evacuation Alert remains in effect for these areas.

While river levels are subsiding, many areas continue to be under water. Dewdney Regional Park and Island 22 Regional Park remain closed. It is expected that once waters full recede, repairs will be necessary before the parks can be reopened. The FVRD will work toward reopening these two regional parks as quickly as possible.
