Abbotsford Police – Home Invasion On McKenzie Road

Abbotsford – Abbotsford Police Patrol officers were called to a report of a home invasion in the 2300 block of McKenzie Road.  The resident had confronted the suspect and was holding him on the floor when police arrived on scene. 

The male suspect was then taken into custody and officers found him to be in medical distress. Officers then initiated CPR.  Medical efforts to assist the man were assumed by Abbotsford Fire Rescue and BC Ambulance personnel upon their arrival.

The 19 year-old man was transported to hospital by paramedics where he remains in critical condition.   

Abbotsford Police Major Crime detectives have conduct of this investigation.  At this time it is not known if there is any connection between the residents of the home and the 19 year-old man. 

The Independent Investigations Office (IIO) was notified to determine if there was a connection between any police action and the injuries to this man. The IIO has since concluded their investigation as they found no connection.
