One Of The Oldest AA Meetings In The Fraser Valley, Turns 70 – April 27

Chilliwack /Abbotsford- AA or Alcoholics Anonymous has been around since 1935. In the Fraser Valley, one of the oldest meetings, called “Friday Night Podium” turns 70 this month. Since 1948, countless men and women have sought an answer to combating their alcoholism. Podium is considered to be one of the oldest, if not THE longest tenured AA meetings around.

The actual celebration for this meeting is Friday April 27, 9PM at the Chilliwack United Church on Spadina Avenue and Yale Road (Across the street from the Downtown Save-On Foods).

AA is not just for those fighting the bottle. Family and friends of the alcoholic are also welcome at meetings.

One of the AA traditions states that “The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking.”

There is plenty of info to check out prior to going to any AA meeting, but being there in person is a potent experience. More so than just reading on line.
