ORIGINAL STORY – SEPTEMBER 16. 2017
Emergency Services responded to a collision in the 2400 block of Whatcom Road last night @9:30PM.
Abbotsford Patrol Officers, Abbotsford Fire Rescue Services and BC Ambulance Service responded to the area and located a collision involving a Dodge Charger and Chevrolet Cavalier.
The Dodge Charger, with a 21-year-old male driver, was traveling southbound and the Chevrolet Cavalier, with a 33 -year-old male driver, was travelling northbound, collided in a head on collision. Both drivers were transported by BC Ambulance Service to hospital. Sadly, the driver of the Cavalier has succumbed to his injuries in hospital overnight. We offer our condolences to the family and friends of the deceased man.
The driver of the Charger remains in hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
APD Major Crime Detectives and Collision Reconstructionists will continue investigating this crash. All contributing factors to the fatal collision are being considered.
