Chilliwack Vet Loses Vehicle In Fire

Chilliwack – Early Thursday morning (November 23, 2017 @Midnight) the Chilliwack Fire Department was dispatched to a reported vehicle fire located in a parkade of a building in the 9400 block of Nowell Street.

On arrival fire crews reported seeing heavy smoke from the parkade of a 3 storey apartment.

Firefighters responded from Halls 1 and 4. When crews arrived on scene and gained access to the parkade they witnessed fire visible from the interior of a Ford Pickup truck.

Fire crews quickly extinguished the fire which limited fire damage to the truck only. The interior of the building parkade sustained minor smoke damage.

No one was hurt however FVN has learned that the truck is owned by a retired vet who needs the truck to transport his wife to hospital for daily medical attention.

The fire is under investigation by Chilliwack Fire Department officials.
