Chilliwack Lake – Smoke was reported near Paulsen Road, not far from Chilliwack Lake Provincial Park.
The reports came around 5PM on Thursday afternoon.
A firefighting helicopter was dispatched along with crews from Chilliwack River Valley firefighters .
Linda Koskinen took to Facebook to say that forestry crews worked on the fire that was started by an unattended campfire across the river from where she lives. For a time, her husband was trying to dowse the flames with buckets of water.
The fire was quickly knocked down and extinguished.
