Langley – Outdoor Burning Season Postponed

Langley – Due to extremely dry weather conditions, the Township of Langley Fire Department advises residents that outdoor burning is prohibited.

Residents are warned that there is a zero tolerance policy for burning offences and those who contravene the ban will face fines exceeding $200.

Burning Permits for the 2017 fall session will not be issued until significant rainfall has occurred.

Under normal conditions, the Township’s fall burning season would be between September 1 and October 31, as weather permits.

Residents are also reminded that those who want to cook outdoors can use natural gas or propane fires contained within appliances approved by the Canadian Standards Association. Due to the extreme weather conditions, briquette barbeques are currently prohibited.

Residents will be alerted through the Township of Langley’s website at tol.ca, Facebook, Twitter, and the Township Page in local newspapers when burning permits will be issued.
