IHIT – Abbotsford Man Charged With Second Degree Murder Of Clarence Crothers

Abbotsford – On July 4, 2017 (just after 7:00AM)  the Abbotsford Police Department attended a report of a suspicious death in the 33500 block of Braun Avenue.  A deceased male, identified as
62-year-old Clarence John Crothers, was located and IHIT- The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) was called and took conduct.

Early in the investigation, police identified Abbotsford resident 50-year-old, Jeffrey Charles HALICKI as a suspect in connection to Mr. Crothers’ murder.  Mr Crothers and Mr. Halicki were known to each other and the murder was not believed to be random.

It has been a little over a month since Mr. Crothers was murdered, and Crown Counsel has approved a second degree murder charge against Mr. Halicki.

On August 11, 2017 Mr. Halicki was arrested for this alleged crime and remains in custody. Mr. Halicki will make his first appearance in
Abbotsford Provincial Court Monday August 14.
